Showbiz material among 2012 Aliwan Fiesta queens

MANILA, Philippines - Talent casters will have a heyday scrutinizing the bevy of young ladies representing various festivals all over the country who are vying for the title of Reyna ng Aliwan 2012 in glittering ceremonies that will be held on April 13 and 14 at the Aliw Theatre Complex in Pasay City.

Manila Broadcasting Company, which produces the annual cultural extravaganza in partnership with the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) and the cities of Manila and Pasay, has released the list of this year’s candidates.

Representing the Taga-Giik festival of Taguig is Karla Mariz Lopez, a tourism management major from PATTS College of Aeronautics. The muse of Pasay City’s Dayang-Dayang festival is Ana Jameela Radomes, a Business Administration degree holder from Adamson University. 

Baguio City is represented this year by Samirah Hinno, a graduate of Wesleyan University. Isabela is fielding two hotel and restaurant management majors — Joy Marie Gangan of Ilagan and Kim Joy Madurachige of Santiago City.

Pangasinan is sending Kramae Labrado for its Patopat festival, while Hazel German of Bocaue is representing the province of Bulacan for the Halamanan festival of Guiguinto. Decerie Robledo is the muse of the Ala-eh Lambayok festival of San Juan, Batangas

Cebu and Iloilo are both fielding two candidates. The Queen City of the South will send Mira-Mae Dimmerling to represent the Sinulog, while Angeli Gomez is carrying the colors for the Hinulawan festival of Toledo City. Iloilo’s Paraw Regatta is represented by Kimberly Diedrich of the University of San Agustin, while the Dinagyang muse is Charmaine Grace Deatras from Central Philippines University. 

Vanessa Anna Scheuer of Bais City, Negros Oriental, represents Buglasan, while from Vallehermoso comes April Rose Alquisola for Kanlalambat. Alang-alang, Leyte will send Conchitina Cleofe Yu, muse of the Lingganay festival.

From General Santos City is Maureen Elvy Paulo for the Tuna Festival and Michelle Camacho for the city’s Kalilangan. Quennie Rose Bautista of Surallah, South Cotabato represents Lembuhong, while Mae Ann Joy Bello of Cotabato City and Mary Grace Opingo of Datu Piang will represent Maguindanao. South Cotabato’s T’nalak will have Honeylyn Nonog.

The 2012 Aliwan Fiesta is a production of Manila Broadcasting Company, Star City and CCP in cooperation with the cities of Manila and Pasay, with support from the National Parks Development Committee, Smart Communications, Tanduay Mardi Gras, Alaska, Coca Cola, Unilab, Air Philippines, Hanabishi, Cherry Mobile, My Juiz, Procter and Gamble, Dunkin’ Donuts, M. Lhuillier and the Atrium Hotel.
