Double victory for Zia Quizon

MANILA, Philippines - Two awards in one week.

‘I can’t believe it!’ Zia Quizon (photos) told Funfare as she basked in her double victory.

Last March 13, she won Best New Female in the MYX Music Awards (bottom). And on March 18, she received a Gold Award (right) for her eponymous debut album.

In a Facebook message, proud Mama Zsa Zsa Padilla wrote:

“Last night, Zia received her first major award. I am truly proud of her. I am preparing a section of the house where she can put her trophy and, by God’s grace…more trophies, awards and citations soon. Thank you, Jesus! You have blessed me with children I know I am not even deserving to have. But You gave them to me (I must have done something good) and I am grateful.

“Thanks to all our loved ones and friends in the industry for all the support and love you throw Zia’s way. Karylle, you were such a supportive Ate. I love you so much!

“And to Polyeast, thank you for discovering Zia and…let’s start (working) her next album.
