Loretta is 'sweet martyr'

Loretta Marquez, who belonged to Sampaguita Pictures’ Star ’66 batch, was elevated to stardom a year before. She played the title role in Morena Martir, opposite another Star ’66 member, Edgar Salcedo.

Described as a sweet and frail beauty, Loretta didn’t stay long in the movies, opting to lead a quiet life in a nearby province. In the ’80s, she gained some fame as a faith healer.

Loretta, Edgar and another Star ’66 member, Dindo Fernando, have long been gone, shining in a happier world.
