Failon Ngayon probes pollution

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Metro Manila is one of the world’s five most polluted cities, according to the World Health Organization (WHO) and United Nations Environment Program (UNEP). Filipinos are facing health hazards brought about by unclean air. What is the government doing to address this? Is the Clean Air Act being implemented well in the country?

Today at 4:30 p.m. on ABS-CBN’s Failon Ngayon, Ted Failon (photo) investigates the issue and looks at what the government is doing to address the problem and how the Clean Air Act has been implemented.

Ted listens to the story of Rosa, a street vendor, and Randy, a jeepney driver as they share how they endured dealing with air pollution every day while doing their jobs and how it actually made them ill.

Almost 4,968 people die annually of respiratory and cardiovascular diseases due to various diseases, based from a study made by the World Bank and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).
