A tale of mother's unparalleled love
MANILA, Philippines - This month, GMA 7 will launch its most dramatic afternoon drama series yet; one that will boldly pique every viewer’s conscience, pitting ends versus the means, malice versus the motive — Hiram na Puso.
Starring Kris Bernal, Mark Herras, Polo Ravales, Bela Padilla, Gardo Versoza, Ayen Laurel, Candy Pangilinan, Ana Marin, Marc Acueza, Gina Alajar and Wynwyn Marquez, Hiram na Puso is a heart-warming story about a mother’s unparalleled love and the sacrifices she has to bear so her daughter may live.
The story revolves around Lira (Kris), a teenager who is in dire need of a heart transplant and her mother Zeny (Gina), a nurse who, despite the modesty of her income, will do everything she could to keep her daughter alive.
One night, Zeny becomes a witness to a vehicular accident. She rushes to rescue the female victim Angeline, but after realizing Angeline’s potential of becoming a heart donor to her child, she waits for her to die instead. But because of the constant prodding of her conscience, she later decides to take her to the hospital and be allowed to survive. But her decision came too late: Deprived of immediate medial attention, Angeline goes into a coma and soon, dies.
… (from left) Bela Padilla, Gardo Versoza, Ayen Munji-Laurel and Gina Alajar Unaware of what really transpired, Angeline’s parents thank Zeny for at least attempting to “save” their daughter’s life. They agree to donate their daughter’s heart to Zeny’s daughter as a gesture of gratitude. Zeny is filled with elation for she knows that she won’t lose her daughter anymore — or will she?
Just a few months after Lira’s heart transplant, Zeny sees a lot of changes in her daughter’s personality. What’s worse is that while Lira begins to grow cold towards her, she develops affinity with Angeline’s parents. Zeny could see that her daughter is very much alive, but with their hearts now beating several thuds apart, how will she be able to win her back?
Hiram na Puso premieres March 5 after Eat, Bulaga! on GMA’s Afternoon Prime.
