PULP features August Burns Red this month

MANILA, Philippines - With barely three weeks left until international heavy metal heavyweights Lamb of God and The Black Dahlia Murder deliver musical power and aggression, PULP Magazine offers the best deals in town for its legion of followers and faithful head-bangers. PULP’s February 2012 issue is also now available at all stands nationwide and keeps up the tradition of celebrating both the best in live and the loud as August Burns Red (ABR) takes the honors as this month’s cover band. Hailing from Manheim, Pennsylvania and fronted by Jake Lurhs, the band is currently on the forefront of a growing metal-core scene in the US, and lauded for being one of the most innovative and technically advanced groups of the millennium.

PULP editor-in-chief Joey Dizon is lucky to get an exclusive Q&A with Lurhs, who gamely shares the stories behind the making of the band’s latest disc Leveler, and how a band made up of “followers of Christ” doesn’t necessarily make its members crazy about the whole “Christian rock” label. Subsequently, ABR is also one of the six international headliners to perform at this year’s PULP Summer Slam 12, happening on April 28 at the QC Amoranto Stadium, alongside Archenemy, Darkest Hour, We Came as Romans, Bless The Fall and Periphery.
