All systems go for GMA Network this 2012

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - It’s all systems go for GMA Network this Year of the Dragon.

At the recently-concluded star-studded trade presentations, the multimedia company rolled out its key projects for 2012, which can provide the best platform to deliver its partner-advertisers’ key messages.

Its parent company GMA Channel 7 earns the distinction of being the national ratings frontrunner among competing local free-to-air stations, based on data from ratings service provider Nielsen TV Audience Measurement.

And for the first quarter of 2012, GMA is all set to launch an extensive rundown of all-original productions on primetime and daytime.

GMA’s News and Public Affairs team also further powers GMA News TV. In less than a year since its launch, News TV already bagged more than 25 local and international awards.

The channel’s formidable roster of topnotch news and public affairs programs is bannered by its credibility strip, airing every 8 p.m. on weekdays — Brigada with Jessica Soho on Mondays; Powerhouse with Mel Tiangco, Tuesdays; Bawal Ang Pasaway Kay Mareng Winnie with Prof. Winnie Monsod, Wednesdays; Investigative Documentaries with Malou Mangahas, Thursdays; and Motorcycle Diaries with Jay Taruc, Fridays.

GMA Radio, meanwhile, continues to grow its listening audience not only through hit programming thrown in the airwaves, but also through physical on-ground events in the barangays.

GMA’s performance also manifests in the regions, where GMA Regional TV has customized programs to cater to the regional audience. With its improved signal quality and widened coverage, GMA broadcasts extensively throughout the Philippines, its signal reaching approximately 96.7 percent of the Urban TV Households.

Overseas, GMA International stays in touch with Filipinos from all over the world. Its three international channels, namely, GMA Pinoy TV, GMA Life TV and GMA News TV International Edition are present in five continents and 87 countries.

On top of GMA’s online projects Youscoop, Fanatxt and Augmented Reality, the network’s online presence is further improved through the launch of the all-in-one media portal GMANetwork.com.

GMA chairman and CEO Felipe Gozon welcomes 2012 with a positive outlook for the year ahead and raises confidence in getting a bigger share of the advertising budget due to leadership in nationwide ratings.

GMA president and COO Gilberto Duavit Jr., on the other hand, added that a substantial percentage of the annual targets for 2012 has already been secured by the sales team this early. He added that part of this year’s capital expenditures will be used to launch three more originating stations in Bicol, Ilocos and Batangas in addition to GMA’s nine originating stations and 50 transmitting stations nationwide.

GMA’s top management led by Gozon, Duavit, GMA EVP and CFO Felipe Yalong, GMA Marketing and Productions, Inc. president and COO Lizelle Maralag, along with a strong lineup of Kapuso stars — Marian Rivera, Dingdong Dantes, Geoff Eigenmann, Sid Lucero, Alessandra de Rossi, Chris Tiu, Bianca King, Glaiza de Castro, Dennis Trillo, Bela Padilla, Kris Bernal, Mark Herras, Polo Ravales, Luis Alandy, Sarah Lahbati, TJ Trinidad, JC Tiuseco, Kylie Padilla, Rocco Nacino, Bea Binene, Jake Vargas, Louise delos Reyes, Derrick Monasterio — graced the two-day event held at the New World Hotel in Makati City.

With a power play of all platforms on-air and online, there is nowhere else to go for GMA but up.
