Body Talk with Anne Curtis
“Wala nang atrasan ‘to!” exclaimed Anne Curtis with a subtle “threat” (to cynics) in her voice. “Araneta, here I come!”
Her “coming” will happen on Saturday, Jan. 28, during her first major solo concert Annebisyosa: No Other Concert (a title inspired by her hit movie No Other Woman) at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Ticket sales are brisk and that makes Anne a bit nervous, challenged as she is to prove that, besides being good in acting, she is also good at singing.
“It will be a fun show,” promised Anne. “I will just be myself. I will have fun and hopefully everyone will have fun, too. I’m not a serious singer and I don’t think people expect me to suddenly, magically transform into one in this concert. But I assure everyone of a great time.”
Included in her repertoire are some of the ‘80s big hits. Part of the show’s attraction is the “fashion show” (sort of!) of Anne in fabulous costumes and other visual delights. The show marks Anne’s 15th anniversary in showbiz and several guest stars will join her in special numbers.
“This is my big thank you to all my fans who have supported me through the years,” Anne noted. “They’re the ones who made this dream of mine come true. And I will give them my all in this concert.”
What special preparations did you do for your concert?
“A lot of brainstorming, dance rehearsals and proper breathing methods.”
It’s your first major concert. Aren’t you scared?
“I’m terrified and nervous but super excited at the same time!”
Have you had any voice training?
“Not really for voice because there’s no hope there but proper berthing methods so I don’t run out of breath easily while singing and dancing.”
How do you take care of your voice (no cold drinks, etc.)?
“I eat and drink what I like as I always have. It really doesn’t make a difference for me. Hahahaha! My voice is what it is.”

“My lips.”
What part of a guy’s body do you notice first?
“His eyes and nose. So in general his face.”

And what’s in a guy that turns you off?
“If he is conceited, arrogant and has dirty nails.”
How much sleep do you get per night?
“If I’m lucky, a maximum of six hours and a minimum of four.”
Favorite sleepwear?
“Big T-shirt and undies, or pretty nightgown.”
How many pillows do you sleep with?

Do you snore?
“Hmmm…not that I know of.”
