Aida Cariño as Igorota

Dusky beauty Aida Cariño portrayed the title role in the 1958 movie Ang Nobya Kong Igorota opposite Amado Cortez, playing a Philippine Military Academy cadet.

Aida didn’t stay long in the movies, but she appeared as leading lady in two important movies, Krus na Kawayan and Objective: Patayin si Magsaysay. Earlier, she appeared in a supporting role in Ikaw Kasi, starring Nida Blanca and Nestor de Villa.

Ikaw Kasi and Krus na Kawayan were directed by Manuel Conde.

Ang Nobya Kong Igorota was billed as a ‘profound and undying’ love between ‘two people oceans apart.’
