LMFAO gets 2012 off to a party start

Looks like this new year is off to a great party start with the music of the wacky band LMFAO. Sorry For Party Rocking, the second album by the LMFAO, was released last year and very surely made its way to the top. As the months passed, the album grew bigger and bigger and doubly bigger with the onset of the holidays. In fact, the hit single Party Rock Anthem was truly the party anthem of the past Christmas season.

Silly, ridiculous but with a great beat, it is performed with so much enthusiasm by the very hot LMFAO. Party Rock Anthem certainly put lots of people in a happy, dancing, boisterous and whatever fun adjective you can think of, party mood. And now there is another hit single, the even wackier Sexy And I Know It.

To those who asked who they were, I told them LMFAO were the crazy band in boxer shorts with Justin Bieber and David Hasselhoff at the American Music Awards. They brought the house down at the finale. But I thought twice about saying what LMFAO means. It is really the same as LOL (laugh out loud), but a bigger, roaring, heartier, foot-stomping laugh because it is LMFAO (laughing my f**king ass off). And these funny guys are now laughing all the way to the bank with a second No. 1 seller. Their latest Sexy and I Know It, which is about the male sex organ is the No. 1 song in the U.S. of A. this week as per the Billboard Hot 100 tabulation.

The performing group LMFAO is made up of dancers, rappers, producers that might occasionally include will.i.am and given how the minds of these guys work, plus anybody whom they believe can party up the music. The ringleaders are DJs Redfoo, who is really Stefan Kendal Gordy and his nephew Sky Blu who is really Skyler Austen Gordy.

Both DJs are members of American music royalty having descended from Berry Gordy Jr. If you must know, Granddad did not only found Motown and discover Michael Jackson, The Supremes and Diana Ross. He also reinvented black soul and forever changed the face of popular music. I do not know if Redfoo and SkyBlu will do likewise in the future but I am sure everybody will agree, they make excellent, even if mostly irreverent party music.

Everything in Sorry For Party Rocking is nonsense. Take note of the lyrics, you will surely laugh. Learn them too because you will find yourself singing to yourself after listening a couple of times to this CD. Here is how I roll/ animal print pants outta control, they go in Sexy And I Know It. And they do wear animal print boxer shorts. But so what if it comes out stupid, LMFAO has so much fun and you want to go along with them.

The other cuts in the album are Rock The Beat, Sorry For Party Rocking, Party Rock Anthem featuring Lauren Bennett and Goonrock, Champagne Showers featuring Natalia Kills, Take It To The Hole featuring Busta Rhymes, Best Night featuring will.i.am, Goon Rock and Eva Simons, All Night Long featuring Lisa, and With You. Then last but not least the song that I believe will take these guys even higher and which should be the next single, One Day.
