KC on lessons from her very public break-up

KC Concepcion made her last appearance on The Buzz as co-host last Sunday. KC said her goodbyes to the show where she spent two years and to the staff she dearly loves. She will be working on her own reality talent show, X Factor Philippines.

According to her, she had so many learnings and fun moments on The Buzz. “Ang gulo-gulo talaga natin. May mga nag-tweet na mga fans at artista because they wouldn’t understand what we were talking about dahil sabay sabay tayong magsalita. But such is the job. We talk, we listen, we learn.”

KC, who is now sporting a new hairdo, said that it was not hard for her to decide on cutting her beautiful locks. 

“Sabi nila pag nagpagupit ng ganyan kahaba o ganyan ka-drastic, kailangan talagang ready kayong gawin yun at hindi talaga pinag-isipan kasi pag pinag-isipan ang ginawa n’yo, you can regret it. You will miss it,” KC explained. “I even call it feelings. Ang tawag sa pagpapagupit ng buhok ko, emotions. Sabi daw nila ang babae pag may pinagdaanan, ke maganda o hindi, basta life-changing, unang-unang pinapalitan ay buhok.”

KC is also thankful for the love and support she has been getting since she came back from Paris two years ago. While she was in Paris, KC was doing commercials for some products in the country, and was closely followed by her adoring fans. “My album came out last year or two years ago. A lot has already happened since then. A lot has supported me also since I returned. But there were times really when I asked if I am still loved by the people since coming back from Paris. Yung Parisianang Pilipinang Kristina na kilala nila hindi yun mawawala.”

One of the lessons she learned after her famous break-up with Piolo Pascual was, “That you should never allow anyone to step on you. You should not let anyone think less of you and that bilang babae, meron kang strength na hindi mo alam o hindi mo malalaman agad-agad na meron ka at huwag mong bibitawan ‘yon.”

There were times when she thought that the public has given up on her. “May time na inisip ko na wala na talaga, na hindi na nila ako mahal. Meron akong panibagong nakita sa mga supporters and viewers. Ngayon ko lang nararamdaman na mahal n’yo ako, na andyan pa rin kayo. Whatever project I’ve tried out here, you’ve been there for me, willing to watch it, willing to accept it.”

This year, KC is very excited at the new things in her life. “I’m very excited for the new me, sa lahat ng napagdaanan natin talagang may bagong chapter, bagong leaf na tinu-turn over at lahat (ng nangyayari) naniniwala ako may dahilan.”

Kris: Life made me credible as an actress

One of the best things that happened to Kris Aquino last year was the movie Segunda Mano (with Dingdong Dantes and Angelica Panganiban), the second top-earning movie in the recent Metro Manila Film Festival. Enteng ng Ina Mo, still showing in Metro Manila theaters, is the No. 1 earner.

There are many things that Kris looks forward to this year. She will be doing a new show and a teleserye with Anne Curtis.

Looking back, Kris enthused, “If you trace my career, 21 years ago nung ni-launch ang career ko at ang ibinigay sa aking material was comedy, di ba si Pido Dida at that precise moment it broke all box-office records. Nung nagbalik ako sa movie-making bilang bida in 2004, the genre given to me was horror (Feng Shui) at thank you, God, nagsunod-sunod ang success do’n pero siguro na-acknowledge ng Star Cinema that I’ve grown up and that I’ve also experienced so much in life that now I’m credible as an actress.”

Kris is just too happy being around her sons Joshua and Baby James. She realized that she need not look for a man to make her happy or to complete her life. “My question really is how long does it take to find true love. I used to think I’ll never find it but I realized that I am surrounded by love.” 

She is single, yes, but she does not think love is missing in her life, “Love comes in many forms and finding true love does not have to be embodied by one man kasi di ba pwede talaga na ang love o ang role mo sa buhay ay magmahal ng anak, magmahal ng kaibigan,” she added.
