Sir Boy's star-studded opening

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Where can you find a place where the biggest names in politics and media gathered together under the same roof? Where else but at Sir Boy’s Food Republique, home to Filipino cuisine.

Sir Boy’s Food Republique had its grand opening last Nov. 8.

House Speaker Sonny Belmonte, Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista, QC Vice Mayor Joy Belmonte and Brgy. Captain Leopoldo Tiamzon cut the ceremonial ribbon.

Boy So is well-loved by celebrities that it was not surprising that famous personalities graced the opening night. Among the well-wishers were Sitti, Gelli de Belen, Ariel Rivera, Tintin Bersola, Julius Babao, Phoemela Baranda, K Brosas, Laarni Lozada, Hansen Nichols, K-La Rivera, direk GB Sampedro, Kim Idol, Triz Reyes, Erik Santos, Faith Cuneta, Diana Zubiri, Dagul, and Kiray. Boy Abunda endorses Food Republique.

Owned by Boy So of La Carmela de Boracay Resort Hotel, Sir Boy’s Food Republique is one of the five restaurants under the La Carmela Group. It offers a variety of Filipino food (lutong bahay) at affordable prices. Try its adobo, kare-kare, mechado, Bicol express, tinola, sisig, bulalo, crispy pata, kaldereta, puchero, dinuguan, paksiw, nilaga, sinigang and more.

What makes the restaurant unique from the other existing dining places is that its menu varies daily. Soon Sir Boy’s Food Republique will feature every month a specific regional dish like Ilocano, Kabalen, Ilonggo, Waray and many others.

The main highlight is the restaurant’s eat-all-you-can P99 buffet from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. (99-10-10). Also served at the Food Republique are Dimsum Boy (pork siomai, chicken feet, kutchay dumpling, spare ribs, wanton noodles), Sir Boy’s BBQ (pork and chicken BBQ, Bam-i), Sweet Boy (all cakes and pastries) and Sir Boy’s Dampa (fresh seafood cooked either grilled or with soup (sinigang based). These outlets are not part of the eat-all-you-can buffet.

Sir Boy’s Food Republique is located at No. 29 Panay Ave. cor. near Roces St., Quezon City. It is also near the Capitol Medical Center.
