Marriott Manila's Bid and Build
MANILA, Philippines - This year, Marriott Manila makes a difference with a fund-raising event for Habitat for Humanity through Bid and Build. With the participation of celebrities, designers, socialites, luxury fashion and beauty brands, Marriott Manila was able to gather a total of 50 items for the auction project.
The event was hosted by Phoem Barranda who also donated a limited edition Adidas jacket for the event. The opening number was courtesy of Resorts World Manila’s European theater group and brought an exciting vibe of Life is a Cabaret which was a total pleaser for the sexy and lively performance.
To officially kick off the event, Marriott Manila GM Richard Saul was the first to bid for the young and vibrant photographer Shaira Luna’s half-day pictorial session. It was followed by more interested buyers with Bobby Brown peony and phyton palette; Rudy Project items; Liza Ilarde’s Commes de Garcon leather wallet; Sari Yap’s Gucci shades; and airfare tickets from Singapore Airlines, Thai Airways and Zest Air.
To fill the air with the Christmas spirit, Raph Salazar serenaded the guests. Miss World 2011 first runner-up Gwendoline Ruais led the Christmas tree lighting together with Pasay City first wife Edna Calixto and Richard Saul. Since the event coincided with Thanksgiving, guests got a fill of executive chef Meik Brammer’s juiciest and tastiest turkey with cranberry sauce, chicken satay, assorted dimsums and Christmas sweets and treats for dessert such as Yule log cake, fondue, fruit cake, and brownies. There was also a pass around of both classy and classic wine selections which were also highly commended by connoisseurs. While the crowd was in the midst of enjoying the fun and entertainment, Santa Claus came into picture with his bag full of sweets.
