Tyra Banks revealed in E! Entertainment Special

MANILA, Philippines - She’s a supermodel, actress, TV host, media mogul and book author. She may be every girl’s role model now but Tyra recalls that when she was still young, she didn’t exactly fit the role model shoes. “I became the mean girl, head of the cliqué from around nine to 11 years old. I could have seen me turning into the stereotypical bitchy, conceited girl but I realized that being prom queen or being admired by your peers isn’t about popularity. There’s so much more to being recognized,” says Tyra.

Showcasing deeply personal insights by her mother Carolyn London and Tyra’s childhood friend Robyn Roth, E! shows the true stories surrounding the defining moments of Tyra’s life. 

Notoriously perfectionist, E! reveals how Tyra is driven each day to achieve perfection.

“I have this thing inside of me that eats at me to create things that are perfection. When I was working on ANTM, I wasn’t sleeping, I was living in the edit bay,” says Tyra. Adds Carolyn: “She got physically sick from just trying to have her hands on everything. When she got Tyra, I actually became afraid for her.”

Her beauty and success inevitably attracted admirers but even in a relationship, Tyra is not your ordinary girlfriend. “She always had a boyfriend and it was always some amazing guy that was really sweet and cool. She definitely wore the pants in the relationship. And you need to be this really powerful, secure guy to be able to handle that,” says Robyn.
