Friends with Benefits, other new shows on ETC Nov. 18

MANILA, Philippines - ETC explores the world of dating and airs new sitcom this month. From the writers of 500 Days of Summer, Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber and the Oscar and Emmy-winning producer Brian Garzer, comes etc’s newest sitcom about the realities of modern dating. Premiering tomorrow, Nov. 18 at 9 p.m. on etc, Friends with Benefits tells the story of a group of friends looking for love while blurring the line between friendship and lovers. Ben (Ryan Hansen) and Sara (Danneel Ackles) are best friends. They are both on the search for Mr. and Ms. Right, but for now they have each other. As they explore the dating jungle and meet the most interesting of people, the two have fallen into the habit of turning to each other at the end of the day for moral, emotional and physical support. Their friendship has turned into one with benefits.

Putting the “class” in working class are waitresses Max and Caroline in the hilarious new comedy 2 Broke Girls. Premiering on Nov. 23 at 8 p.m., these two girls, who are from very different backgrounds wind up working together in a Brooklyn diner where an unlikely friendship strikes up between them. Starring Kat Dennings as Max and talented new actress Beth Behrs as Caroline, the wacky twosome will leave you in stitches as they aim to increase the balance of their bank accounts. Max, poor from birth, works two jobs to keep up with her bills, while Caroline is a socialite who loses her trust fund after her dad is involved in an embezzlement scandal and is only now learning the value of the dollar. When Caroline discovers Max’s talent for baking amazing cupcakes, she realizes that this could be their recipe to financial stability. Now all they need to do is come up with $250,000 in start-up expenses. While saving their tips, they‘ll need to keep working shifts at the diner with Oleg (Jonathan Kite), an overly flirtatious Russian cook; Earl (Garrett Morris), a 75-year-old cashier and cool cat; and Han Lee (Matthew Moy), the new, eager-to-please owner of the diner.
