K-Pop sensation Jay Park performed to 25,000 fans at MTV Exit Live in Manila concert

MANILA, Philippines – Korean pop sensation Jay Park, along with other international and local artists performed recently at the MTV EXIT Live in Manila concert, which were attended by over 25,000 fans last October 29 at the Mall of Asia concert grounds in Pasay City. Watch full video

It was Jay Park’s first performance with MTV EXIT (End Exploitation and Trafficking) and performed to some of the fans’ favorites, such as “Abandoned”, “Without You” plus “Tonight”, “6’7’”, and “Demon”.

Joining the line-up were Californinan alternative rock band, Evaline, as well as top local artists Prokya Ni Edgar, Pupil, Ebe Dancel, and Itchyworms who took the stage by storm and dazzled the crowd with amazing performances.

Another highlight of the show was when international singer, songwriter and anti-trafficking Jason Mraz made a special appearance and shared a compelling message to encourage everyone in the Philippines to join him in the MTV EXIT anti-trafficking movement to end modern-day slavery.

Human Trafficking is a crime that affects 2.5 million people worldwide. Of those, more than half are half are living in or are from Asia and the Pacific.

Often, the victims are young people who are guilty of nothing more than wanting a better life from themselves.

MTV EXIT is produced by the MTV EXIT Foundation in partnership with the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), the Australian Government’s Agency for International Development (AusAID) and the Philippines Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking.

“Music is really an incredible force for change and this concert was a great way for people to come together and unite in the fight against trafficking,” said Matt Love, MTV EXIT’s campaign director. “Tonight, over 25,000 people attended this concert in solidarity – to make a statement that we all have to join together to end modern day slavery.”

 “The fight against human trafficking should not be done by one person, but by everyone!” said the Vice President Jejomar Binay in his speech.

“Your participation tonight shows how dedicated we are to fight against human trafficking.” MTV EXIT Celebrity Ambassador in the Philippines, Dingdong Dantes encouraged everyone to be involved by standing up and combat this critical social issue together.

Dingdong Dantes is also the host for the new half-hour Filipino documentary film, Enslaved: An MTV EXIT Special, which showcases a real and rare glimpse into human trafficking and exploitation in the Philippines, telling stories of human trafficking survivors and highlighting what  everyone can do to help end this horrific crime.

Enslaved: An MTV EXIT Special will premiere on GMA News TV Channel 11 on Novemeber 27 at 9:55 p.m.

MTV EXIT has now held 27 concerts across Asia over the past two and a half years, including events in Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Nepal, Taiwan, the Philippines, Vietnam, Indonesia and Timor-Leste.

MTV EXIT Live in Manila concert will be televised on GMA News TV Channel 11 on Novemeber 20 at 9:55 p.m.
