Step into the world of The Playboy Club
MANILA, Philippines - 2nd Avenue takes you back to ’60s Chicago where anyone who wants to be someone wants to be a member of The Playboy Club, premiering tonight at 10.
The Playboy Club is the newest drama from Academy award-winning executive producer Brian Glazer that looks to steam up your viewing pleasure with intrigue, betrayal, lust and secrets.
This legendary hotspot plays the backdrop for former mob lawyer turned aspiring State Attorney Nick Dalton (Eddie Cibrian). Rubbing elbows with the most powerful figures in the city, he is the envy of other club members as his swagger and good looks make him the desire of many women. When new cigarette Bunny, Maureen (Amber Heard) is assaulted by a drunken club member and accidentally kills him, it is Nick that comes to her rescue. Recognizing the dead man as a powerful mobster, he helps Maureen cover up the death which in turn sets in motion a series of events that will rule the pair’s future.
Running the club is headstrong general manager Billy (David Krumholtz). Determined to keep his highrollers happy, he makes sure that all matters of the club run like clockwork. However, his authority is relentlessly questioned by Bunny Carol-Lynne (Laura Benanti), the club’s first-ever Bunny, who thinks that her tenure deserves her more respect and power around the man-ruled establishment. Looking for ways to keep Carol-Lynne quiet, it looks like Billy has found a formidable opponent in the fiery, outspoken diva.
Serving up drinks at The Playboy Club is handsome bartender Max (Wes Ramsey), but with his girlfriend Janie (Jenna Dewan Tatum) working as a Bunny, can he keep his concentration on the drinks and not on those ordering them? Also working at the club is “Chocolate Bunny” Brenda (Naturi Naughton), a beautiful African American Bunny who sees the club as her way to bigger aspirations and Bunny Alice (Leah Renee) who loves the feeling of empowerment and financial security that her job gives her.
