An inspiring musical tribute

MANILA, Philippines - The first time I heard Fr. Jeff Shannon singing, it is hard to describe exactly how I felt, but I knew right away that he has the voice of an anointed servant of God.

Being an avid fan of Gospel music and Marian songs, I have listened to various singers but Fr. Jeff’s songs touched me spiritually like no other.

Fr. Jeff is part of the Blessed Mary Mother of the Poor Foundation of Monte Maria Church in Tagaytay City. Together with healing priest Fernando Suarez, their congregation officiates the healing Mass aired on TV5 every Sunday and on ABS-CBN every third Sunday of the month. They also hold healing Masses on Saturdays and Sundays at the Monte Maria Shrine.

Fr. Jeff is a respected and well-loved member of the congregation. With his God-given musical aptitude, he opted to praise, honor and give tribute to Mother Mary through his music. He has compiled Marian songs and prayers that will be treasured by listeners. Fr. Jeff’s own rendition and version of these Marian melodies are appreciated not just by Catholics but also by other Christian denominations.

Listening to these songs could help heal and cleanse the body and spirit. His music can strengthen the faith in Jesus Christ and in the divine miraculous intervention of the Blessed Virgin Mother. He has compiled and recorded 15 Marian compositions for the album titled A Musical Tribute To Our Lady Of Monte Maria by Father Jeff Shannon released and made available at Monte Maria Church, Bgy. Amuyong, Alfonso, Cavite. He has performed these songs during their congregation’s special healing Masses nationwide and in different parts of the world.

Some of my most favorite songs are Daghang Salamat Maria, Holy Is His Name, Mariang Ina Ko, Sacrament of Love, Santa Maria, Take My Hand and Mama Mary, among others.

All songs were given the right musical arrangement by producer-arranger Abraham Hipolito, which gave more power to the voice of the singing priest.

The compact disc album also features a special healing prayer by Fr. Suarez that will surely touch many.

Proceeds from the sales of Fr. Jeff’s CD will be given to Blessed Mary Mother of the Poor Foundation for the benefit of all the children and families under its care.
