Wok Around the Philippines in Quickfire Season 13

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - After featuring a number of GMA News TV-11’s Quickfire mommies and their very own 10-minute kitchen wonders, Quickfire’s newest season — its lucky 13th — brings viewers to a whole new kitchen adventure as the show journeys to eight different cities all over the country in search for more kitchen geniuses and their 10-minute kitchen wonders.

Dubbed as Wok Around the Philippines, Quickfire’s new season will have program host Chef-mom Rosebud Benitez taking a trip to Baguio City, Cebu City, Tagbilaran City, Naga City, Davao City and Quezon City to discover more 10-minute kitchen wonders concocted by fervent Quickfire viewers beginning Sept. 2, which also marks the 20th anniversary of Aji Ginisa.

For its first week, Quickfire invades Ninoy Aquino Parks and Wildlife in Quezon City and Burnham Park in Baguio City with new and original recipes from Quickfire foodie viewers Jhermaine Fernandez, Marichu Zablan, Lariza Garcia, Heide Ugay, Christian Allarde, Maria Tan, Forsyth Cordero, Elain Cabreros, Tiffany Cayabyab, Dr. Mary Dulce Catbagan, Arly Cabreros, Roland Macatulad, Arceluitz Cabalu and Amorfina Liu.

With no formal culinary lessons, Jhermaine and Christian are two ordinary guys whose love for food made them real kitchen geniuses as they share their mouthwatering 10-minute kitchen wonders in the new season of Quickfire.  Jhermaine will showcase how to make his Pancit Canton in Light Adobo Sauce and whips up another meal called Meaty Mushroom Balls with Hot Slaw while Christian will present his Grilled Java Chicken in Peanut Sauce

Pan Seared Chicken Fillet with Mayo & Parmesan on Herbed Veggies comes from the kitchen of Quickfire foodie Marichu while Ma. Heide shares her gastronomic creations called Asian Spareribs with Bell Peppers and Drunken Chicken that has best endeared her to her family and friends.

Utilizing Baguio City’s rich food resources, Elain proudly shares her healthy Strawberry Salad with Wild Mushroom Spinach while Amorfina shows how she cooks her very own Spicy Chicken Tenders with Strawberry Coulis.

Meanwhile, Arly gives pasta a new twist with her Vegetaria Greek Pasta while Forsyth delivers his new tasty Chorizo Sausage and Pepper Casserole.  Binagoongan Burrito is an original dish of Arcelitz Cabalu, while Kung Pao Beef with Sesame Noodles is a kitchen wonder of Dr. Mary Dulce.

Other 10-minute kitchen wonders this season are Maria Tan’s Chinese Sausage and Cabbage Omelet, Lariza Garcia’s Crispy Pork Belly with Stewed Vegetables, Tiffany Cayabyab’s Grilled Chicken with Fragrant Asian Veggie and Roland Macatulad’s Grilled Beef with Mushroom Sauce.

Catch all these 10-minute kitchen wonders with Chef Rosebud Benitez in Quickfire, served several times daily on GMA News TV-11.
