Puregold supermarket to open branch in Legazpi City

MANILA, Philippines - Bicolanos will soon enjoy a unique shopping experience as Puregold Price Club, Inc. is set to open its first supermarket in Bicol Region at the Embarcadero de Legazpi  in Legazpi City, Albay before the year ends.

Living up to its commitment to give customers a one-of-a-kind shopping experience, the Embarcadero de Legazpi has chosen Puregold Price Club, Inc. to put up a supermarket at the mall’s ground level. 

The supermarket will open in the last quarter of 2011.

“We have chosen Puregold due to its unparalleled service policy of providing above par customer service aside from its low-priced merchandise, good assortment and wholesale program,” said Embarcadero Land Ventures, Inc., owner of Embarcadero de Legazpi.

Known nationwide due to its exciting treats and promos like Aling Puring’s Tindahan Mo, Asenso Mo program, Puregold is engaged in wholesale and retail of fresh items, grocery food, health and beauty items, home essentials and fashion apparel.

The company’s retail stores are strategically located across Metro Manila, Regions 3, 4 CAR and now in Bicol.

Economic data say that the retail industry in the Philippines is an important contributor to the national economy, accounting for roughly 15 percent of the Gross National Product and 33 percent of the entire sevices sector.

It employs some 5.25 million people, representing a significant 18 percent of the county’s workforce, meaning two of every 10 workers are employed in the retail industry.
