Stars reveal techie side at Jump launch

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Despite their hectic schedules, local showbiz personalities do take time to catch up on the latest gadgets and technologies. Take Anne Curtis, for example. The “Princess of all Media” effectively engages with her fans through Twitter, making her one of the most followed celebrities on the micro-blogging site with over 1.5 million fans. DJ Mo Twister meanwhile now broadcasts to a global audience through podcasts and receives calls from international listeners, thanks to the Internet.

Anne and Mo were two of the stars who went to the opening of Jump at SM Megamall recently to interact with fellow tech junkies. Jump, the latest breakthrough from Philippine tech giants PLDT and Smart, is like a “digital playground” for those who live and breathe technology. With a futuristic theme, this experience center features the latest products and services in the realm of communication, the Internet and multimedia, and it also showcases the most advanced gadgets, even those that haven’t been launched in the country yet.

Among the other stars who revealed their techie side during the launch was Marian Rivera, star of GMA 7’s hit teleserye Amaya, who even won a round of a popular mobile game, but on an 82” touch-screen (that can only be found in Jump). Toni Gonzaga, the original Smart Bro Prepaid Plug-It ambassadress, was also present and even went around testing PLDT and Smart’s fast Internet connectivity via the center’s array of laptops and tablets. Scene-stealer Tessa Prieto-Valdes was also spotted trying out the interactive avatar-maker one moment and then gabbing with the PLDT and Smart executives the next.

Also present at the Jump launch event were recently crowned FHM sexiest Sam Pinto, radio personalities Sam YG, Tony Toni & Slick Rick, and TV5 talents Arci Muñoz and Mr. Fu.

The Jump Experience Center is now open to anyone who would like to experience tomorrow’s technology today. Why not give it a visit at the SM Megamall Cyberzone and check out the latest devices and cutting edge technology? Better yet, try all the interactive features at the center and play games on the 82-inch screen, and you might even break Marian’s score.
