'Lovers' in Paris

Action speaks louder than words they say. This despite the absence of a categorical admission that Bea Alonzo and Zanjoe Marudo are in a romantic relationship, seems to confirm that they have something beautiful together. When The Buzz went to Tagaytay to cover the golf tournament organized by Diether Ocampo, they were caught in their sweetest moments reserved for people who are in love.

They rode in the same golf cart, Bea held on to Zanjoe’s arm, while Zanjoe kept Bea close to him. Bea and Zanjoe deny that they are in a formal relationship. “Siguro nandoon kami sa estado na gusto ko siya makasama lagi. Sana ako gusto rin niya. Nag-e-enjoy kami sa natututunan namin sa iba’t ibang bagay. Nagagawa ko yong mga gusto ko. Bonus pa na kasama ko yong gusto kong tao,” said Zanjoe.

Bea said that he is learning so much from Zanjoe. “Hindi kami hindrance sa growth naming dalawa. Tinuturuan niya ako kung anong dapat kong maramdaman. Nagiging mas tao ako dahil sa kanya.”

Zanjoe is happy to have Bea around. “Nakikita ko na sana kung papalarin siya na yong taong I would keep.”

By the time this column comes out Bea and Zanjoe would have left for Paris. It is Bea’s first visit to the most romantic place in the world. “First time ni Bea na pupunta doon. Masaya ako na I will be able to share something with her. Meron kaming pinuntahan nila Piolo and KC at gusto ko siyang dalhin doon. Ang ganda ganda ng restaurant, may garden sa loob. I will show it to her.”

Bea is excited about her forthcoming trip to Paris. “Gusto ko yong dadalhin ako sa places that I have not been to. It is always nice na ide-date ka sa isang unusual na lugar. Gusto ko yong may effort like nag-research talaga.”

What if Zanjoe suddenly proposes to her? “It will all depend on how big the ring is,” Bea said laughing.

Maria Aragon

Eleven-year-old Maria Aragon has been making waves in the entertainment world with her version of Lady Gaga’s Born This Way. Maria is from Winnepeg, Canada and the fourth child of Veni and Menchi Aragon. She was born on July 17, 2000. She is in Manila on her first visit. She will come up with an album under Star Records. She is also guesting in Yeng Constantino’s concert.

Lady Gaga was so pleased with Maria’s rendition of Born This Way that the superstar invited her to her concert. Lady Gaga was quoted to have said, “Maria represents what this song is all about. It’s all about the next generation, and the future.”

After the episode with Lady Gaga, Maria has been besieged with offers to perform. She has appeared on Ellen Degeneres show, and has performed before Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton.

Luis & Jen: No PDA

Luis Manzano and Jennylyn Mercado are obviously dating. Reports came out that Luis and Jennylyn were seen kissing inside AFP Theater. They have also been criticized for their very public display of affection. Luis clarified the issue. “Meron lang hinatid si Jen. Since andun naman siya, at kilala naman niya si Billy, pinilit ko siyang bumaba. Just to say hi. Bumaba siya to say hi. It did not even take more than five to 10 minutes. Ni hindi niya nakita sina direk Bobet, at kahit sinong staff. Pumasok siya within the area but not inside the studio.”

Luis added, “One more thing, we don’t do PDA (Public Display of Affection). If I need to help a lady up, I have to hold her. Baka people think that’s PDA, no. Hindi porke’t inaalalayan mo yong likod at hinahawakan mo yong kamay, PDA na.”

He also said that they did not kiss. “Hindi ko siya ilalagay sa ganoong predicament.”
