Angeline: America in the eyes of a promdi/Sarah denies that her parents are separated
Angeline Quinto had her first trip to the US last month. She was part of Sharon Cuneta’s concert tour that included performances in San Diego, California, and Reno, Nevada. The Star Power grand champion is ecstatic about the experience especially with Mega as traveling companion.
“Kakaiba ang hangin dito sa Amerika. It feels like that from our air-con at home,” she said. “I didn’t expect it to be this cold.”
Added Angeline, “I could not forget the moment we landed at the airport. The first thing that came to mind was, ‘So this is how America smells; amoy Amerika talaga.”
She admitted that she was nervous performing before the Filipino community there. “I could not even smile. Kinabahan talaga ako. I am used to singing only here in the Philippines.”
All her worries and apprehensions disappeared when she received a rousing applause from the Fil-Am audience.
“I was very happy with the warm reception. I found out that even in America, there are many people who support me. Thank you po!”
During the trip, she also met an American who wanted to adopt her. All Angeline could say is, “I’m flattrered.”
She also got to bond with Mega.
“I am so happy. This is my first trip to America at si Ma’am Sharon pa ang kasama ko. Every time we finished a show, she would invite me to her room and we had a party there. There was a lot of food! Doon lang din ako nakakita ng sobrang lambot na baka. I couldn’t forget how soft the beef was.”
Soon, Angeline will be back in the US for a solo concert in November. “It’s my birthday concert. Magandang pa-birthday sa akin.”

No, it is not true that Mommy Divine and Daddy Delfin, parents of Sarah Geronimo have separated. Rumor mills claim that, yes, Mommy Divine and Daddy Delfin still live in one house but they are not talking.
Sarah belied the rumors. “We know the truth. God knows the truth, so why should we be affected? Matagal na rin kaming binabatikos --- me, my mom, my whole family. I’m just happy that all members of our family are healthy, ligtas kami lahat. So I don’t let negative stories affect me.”
But Sarah admitted that, just like everybody else, her family has also its share of ups and downs.
“We are not a perfect family. Yes, there are misunderstandings but not to the point that my parents would break up. Sa awa ng Diyos, hindi kami dumadating sa puntong yon. Huwag naman po.”
Locsin group wins CCP award
Leandro V. Locsin Partners, Architects was named the winner of the Cultural Center of the Philippines’ Architectural Design Competition for two iconic buildings, the Artists Center and the new Performing Arts Theater, said Nestor Jardin, chairman of the design competition.
According to Leandro V. Locsin Partners, Architects, the design for the two new buildings was conceived to evoke the idea of sculptures within a larger garden and on another level to recall the archipelagic arrangement of an island, a mangrove cluster or Badjao village, and a wave on a promontory rising out of the sea, all possible metaphors for the expression of a national architecture.
The new Artists Center as designed would contrast the CCP Main Theater’s solid singularity. It will feature a series of lighter, transparent pavilions while the new Performing Arts Theater will be more formal but still approachable as bicycle and pedestrian ramps and a grand entrance leading to the main lobby beckons all to step into the public space.
The new Artists Center and the new Performing Arts Theater are two of seven iconic buildings that will form the centerpiece of the CCP Complex Master Development Plan which is aimed at redeveloping the 62-hectare property of the CCP. In this plan, world-class facilities and spaces for artists and the core programs of the CCP will be constructed. The new Artists Center is envisioned as an arts facility that will serve the mandate of the CCP to train and educate artists, arts and cultural managers, teachers and public. The new Performing Arts Theater will have an audience capacity of 1,000. It will serve the growing need for performing venues in the CCP Complex.
