Taalapia re-airs on GMA News TV

MANILA, Philippines - Taalapia, the Howie Severino documentary that foretold today’s fish kills, re-airs on Saturday from 10 to 10:30 p.m. on GMA News TV.  

From nearly any perch in Tagaytay, Taal Lake offers one of the country’s most stunning vistas, a serene panorama of water, islands, and volcanoes.

Howie Severino and his I-Witness team go down to the lake to document a different truth: Thousands of dirty fish pens are rapidly turning the lake into the world’s biggest toilet.

Under the direction of Cinemalaya filmmaker and finalist Tara Illenberger, Howie documents the struggle for Taal Lake’s survival in Taalapia, a two-year old documentary that now seems even more timely with the massive fish kill affecting the lake and its residents.
