Lorenzo Medel's piano recital set for June 25

MANILA, Philippines -  Multi-awarded 15-year-old pianist Lorenzo Medel (photo) will have his third solo recital on June 25, 7:30 p.m. at the Philamlife Theater in UN Ave., Manila. He will be assisted by the Manila Symphony Orchestra with Jeffrey Solares conducting. The main pieces for the recital will be Franz Liszt’s Piano Concerto No.1 in E-flat Major and Bach’s Concerto No.5 in F minor. Other equally challenging pieces by Beethoven, Chopin, Prokofiev and Debussy will form part of his repertoire.

Lorenzo won the first prize of the country’s most prestigious piano competition in 2009, the National Music Competitions for Young Artists (NAMCYA) at age 14 on his first attempt.
