X/046 Filipino Bistro opens

-

MANILA, Philippines -   Husband and wife Andrew and Sandee (Siytangco) Masigan, restaurateurs for the past 20 years, have always cherished the dream of opening a Filipino restaurant. With different concepts in their roster, ‘we would always go back to our local cuisine’, says Sandee. Through the years, their recipe archive kept growing with inputs coming from friends and family all over the country.

That overflowing archive is now alive in X/O46 Filipino Bistro. Beyond the wrought iron gates and throne-like abaca chairs, time stops and a parade of extra-ordinary food begins. With its brick covered walls, X/O46 exudes an elegant, old world charm, the perfect environment to enjoy indulgent, comfort food like Chef CK’s special Callos, Andrew’s favorite Bangus Salpicao (photo) and Ampalaya con Tinapa. X/O’s food takes inspiration from the diverse flavors all over the country as well as our strong Spanish influences. X/O46 also serves choice Spanish wines paired with the Masigan couple’s favorite tapas.

According to Sandee, ‘X/O stands for extra-ordinary, that’s what our culinary heritage is…it’s fascinating, comforting, complex and extra-ordinary. 46 is the year we gained our independence. It’s time we took a step forward for our culinary heritage… for our cuisine to take its place in the world.’

X/O46 Filipino Bistro is located at the ground floor of Le Grand Building, Valero St., Salcedo Village, Makati City.
