Pugo and Togo as twin princes

- Danny Dolor -

Pugo and Togo in ‘majestic-comic’ roles? They were in the LVN costume comedy

Dalawang Prinsipeng Kambal,

sharing stellar billing with Teody Belarmino and Milagros Naval.

The great Manuel Silos of Biyaya ng Lupa fame directed the 1951 movie.

The comic tandem started in ’30s as bodabil performers, later appearing in movies, mostly for Fernando Poe Sr.

After World War 11, Pugo and Togo became LVN mainstays, doing lead and supporting roles.

When Togo died in the early ’50s, Pugo continued as a solo performer on radio-TV and in the movies. He died in 1978.   — RKC
