Ricky hosts 27th hair/makeup tilt

MANILA, Philippines - Ricky Reyes remains true to his calling as the pioneer of Filipino hairdressing. He continues his philanthropic mission of giving birth to opportunities for Filipino hairdressers from all walks of life to gain attention and achieve success.

As president of the Asia Pacific Hairdressers and Cosmetologists Association (APHCA) and Filipino Hairdressers Cooperative (Filhair Coop), and in cooperation with Coop Natco, Babyliss Pro and HBC, Ricky will be spearheading the 27th annual Hair and Makeup Trends Competition.

The day-long event will feature the country’s top hairdressers, stylists and cosmetologists and allow them to put their skills on grand display. It will be held today at the Grand Ballroom of the Philippine Trade Training Center from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The highlight of the day is the competitions in five categories: avant-garde cut and color for men, ladies’ cut and color, commercial makeup, bridal makeup, and the Search for the Babyliss PRO Styling Master. Aside from the exciting prizes to be given away, winners will also have the unique honor of representing the Philippines in international styling conventions and competitions to be held in Macau and Hong Kong in November.

And it won’t just be a day of style: Filhair promises that it will be filled with great entertainment as well. Among the performers set to spice up the event are Phil-Korean singing sensations Pointen, upcoming OPM foursome 1:43, and Are You The Next Big Star? finalists Camille Cortez and Anton Cruz.
