Celebrating Pinoy lifestyle

MANILA, Philippines - It was on February 2008 when it started reaching out to Kapuso viewers from around the world by celebrating Pinoy lifestyle on international TV. Now, on its third year, it is all set to offer a TV experience  that viewers should watch out for as it owns up to being the only international Filipino lifestyle channel.

This is GMA Life TV which brings to spotlight the Filipino’s colorful culture through a dynamic mix of TV genres.

 Complementing GMA Pinoy TV’s programming — the flagship international channel of GMA Network which features top-rating news and public affairs shows and entertainment programs from the Kapuso Network, GMA Life TV combines news and entertainment with lifestyle features which speaks to the contemporary Pinoy audience. As of the last quarter of 2010, GMA Life TV has about 125,000 subscribers or about 800,000 viewers worldwide.

 “A lot of our subscribers appreciate GMA Life TV programming. Life TV shows bring them closer to home because the programs are able to tell them information about our country, people and culture using the infotainment format. They learn something new while being entertained at the same time,” shares Joseph Francia, VP and head of Operations for GMA International.

 This year, GMA Life TV promises to bring only the best as it strengthens its genre blocks. According to Cheri Domingo, programming head of GMA International, “The channel is definitely going to be packed with a lot of fun. A good mix of genres is in store for our Kapuso viewers abroad which feature everything they need and want in life.”

GMA Life TV’s genre blocks are tagged based on the play of the word life which gives emphasis to the diverse programming of the channel. This month, life on GLTV becomes more captivating with new program offerings.

More palatable dishes are in store for the viewers in It’s a Delicious Life with food shows Delicioso and Sarap at Home hosted by Sam Oh and Chef Jackie Ang-Po. Talk becomes more relevant and juicy as Love ni Mister, Love ni Misis led by real-life couple Carmina Villarroel and Zoren Legapi joins the team of Tim Yap, Lolit Solis and Gelli de Belen of Tweetbiz INSIDERS, and the Suzi Entrata-Abrera and Christine Jacob-Sandejas tandem of Full Time Moms in Speaking of Life. Moments of Life turns sweeter with GMA’s local version of LaLola starred by Rhian Ramos, plus fresh episodes from Sexbomb Girls’ Daisy Siete.

 Reel Life, which is GMA Life TV’s movie block, also brings a delightful surprise to Pinoy movie lovers abroad. Life TV viewers will now be able to catch their favorite Filipino movies not only on weekends, but daily, from Mondays to Sundays. 

Together with new offerings and loads of movies, GMA Life TV also taps the News and Public Affairs team of GMA Network for a new roster of serbisyong totoo programs. Chris Tiu and Love Añover share with Kapuso viewers abroad money tips and business know-how’s in Hanep Buhay.

 In Pinoy M.D., Mga Doctor ng Bayan, Connie Sison together with a pool of medical doctors provides information that may help viewers understand various factors concerning overall wellness from health issues to beauty tips.
