John & Priscilla after the wedding

DIRECT LINE - Boy Abunda -

John Estrada and Priscilla Meirelles were married in a lavish ceremony at Thunderbird Resort in La Union attended by close friends and family. Richard Gomez stood as the Best Man while his wife Rep. Lucy Torres-Gomez and Priscilla’s friend Marvie Young-Lim were the Matrons of Honor. Secondary sponsors were Ginger Conejero, Anjo Yllana, Randy Santiago, Ai-Ai de las Alas, Ogie Alcasid, Gabby Concepcion and Sharon Cuneta. Kris Aquino was the Bible reader. John’s children were also part of the entourage.

I interviewed John and Priscilla on The Buzz after the wedding. Here’s part of my interview:

Do you believe in destiny?

Priscilla: I believe in destiny. I really believe that this is the reason — to end up as Mrs. Estrada. I don’t believe that everything in life is by chance. I think there is a plan for everything and a reason why everything happens.

What was your favorite part of the wedding?

Priscilla: When I walked down the aisle and when they played my favorite song.

John: I think the kiss was nice. Yong paglakad niya papunta sa akin, waiting for her, yong reception. Masaya lahat.

Pagkatapos ng kasal saan kayo dumiretso?

Dumiretso kami sa kama at natulog dahil pagod. Ang sarap matulog pag pagod.

Honeymoon plans?

John: It can wait. Hindi kami nagmamadali.

How about babies?

I am ready.

Priscilla: I don’t want to rush it with babies or kids. I really want to enjoy this moment not as boyfriend/girlfriend but as a couple. Whenever God wants to bless us with kids, we are ready.

How did you know that you are the right person for each other?

John is one of the gorgeous men in showbiz. Are you comfortable with this?

Priscilla: Proud na proud po ako.

Selosa ka?

Priscilla: Opo. I don’t mind them looking, just look. But no touch.

What does love mean to you?

Priscilla: It’s about giving and when you love someone, you don’t think too much of yourself, you try to please that person because you want that person to be happy. And if you have the power to make that person happy, you gonna do because you love the person.

John: Love is wonderful.

Congratulations John and Priscilla!

No competition between Toni & Bea

Toni Gonzaga is not jealous that Bea Alonzo is getting the projects that were supposedly meant for her. Some quarters say, plans were underway for a Toni and Robin Padilla movie, but it went kaput. Next was the Toni and Vic Sotto starrer movie which also didn’t reach its planning stage. “Baka siguro para kay Bea talaga at hindi para sa akin. No hard feelings and ill feelings. Mahal ko si Bea bilang isang nakaka-trabaho dito sa ABS-CBN at isa siya sa masasabi kong mabait na artistang nakaka-trabaho ko,” explained Toni.

Toni says there is no competition between her and Bea and there is no reason why they should be constantly pitted against each other. “Bea and I are a lot different from each other. Magkaiba kami ng ginagawa. Magkaiba kami ng forte. Bea is so good at what she does. Ako naman I try to be the best that I can be in what I do,” said Toni, who now co-hosts the new lunchtime program Happy Yipee Yehey, aside of course from The Buzz on Sunday.

Anything pink for Empress

Kim Chiu arrived in time for Empress Schuck’s 18 Treasures during the latter’s debut at the Grand Terrace in Commonwealth, Quezon City. Although Kim was not sure she would be able to attend because of a prior commitment, her presence became a welcome surprise for everyone. Kim did not bring a gift for her debutante-friend. “I was not really sure if I can make it to the 18 Treasures ceremony. Hindi ko alam kung kaya ng schedule ko kaya hindi ako nag palista. I also did not bring a gift for her kasi talagang hindi ko alam kung makakaabot ako,” she explained. And while she was working, Kim was hoping they would finish fast, “para makasunod ako sa birthday party.” When I called, ang sabi, the party has just started.”

On her message to Empress, Kim thanked Empress for the friendship. She also wished happiness and more projects for Empress. “At sana maraming blessings pang dumating. Sana hindi ka magbago.” Kim also assured Empress that Chiurigogobaschu will always be there for her. Chiurigogobaschu is the acronym for the group composed of Kim Chiu, Melissa Ricks, Erich Gonzales, Beauty Gonzales, Kitkat Banas and Empress Schuck.

Among her friends, Kim is known not to bring gifts on time. “Laging delayed. Tinitingnan ko muna yong gifts noong iba saka na ako magbibigay ng regalo,” she explained.

Asked what she will give Empress as a gift, Kim said, “Anything that is pink that will suit her. We both like pink, but her is more of rocker pink, while mine is baby doll pink.”
