Wanlu back to hosting kiddie parties

MANILA, Philippines - News in the children’s party circuit is the return of TV ventriloquist and Talentadong Pinoy comedian Wanlu to hosting them.

Wanlu began his entertainment career as a host of children’s parties, an activity he put on hold following his successful twin careers in TV as well as in ventriloquism.  

 He may have created a good impression as segment host on a couple of TV5 programs, but that’s no reason for him to completely turn his back on hosting kiddie parties, he says.

On his social networking site recently, Wanlu, who’s seen regularly on Wow Meganon and Medyo Late Night Show With Jojo A. announced he’s returning to the kiddie party circuit in 2011.

 He said, “Now that I have established myself as a ventriloquist with the help of the Kapatid Network, perhaps I can host kiddie parties again just for this year to make more people happy, kasi yan ngayon ang theme ng TV5, Happy Network. I want to make a lot of people happy for 2011 and do my share.”

According to Wanlu, Juancho Lunaria in real life, hosting a kiddie party isn’t as simple as it may seem.

“It requires a lot of careful planning.”

He says he has seen moms and dads plan their parties down to the last detail only to be ruined by the party host. “Everything is perfect, from decor to food to giveaways except for the lousy party host. I am back just for this year to save one kiddie party at a time,” he says with a laugh, incredulous at sounding like a superhero.

Wanlu says he has prepared new kiddie party gimmicks including a new co-host, his high technology animatronic monkey puppet named Gonzo. Gonzo will provide the illusion of having not just one but two kiddie party hosts.

He says the visual and vocal illusion of having two emcees in one is something new he’s introducing to the kiddie party industry.

“Just like what I did in ventriloquism, a little hard work will eventually pay off.”

Wanlu also has a package called “Ventrilo-Hosting” for corporate events. The new act is an interplay of several puppets as co-hosts including the very wacky former Congressman, Don Dominador, Pambansang Tambay Mang Kaloy, the grouchy Kap and the naughty Lola Osna.
