Louise's chance to shine

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Here are two exclusive photos of Louise delos Reyes as the title role in Alakdana which will air starting Jan. 24 on GMA’s Dramarama sa Hapon. She plays Adana, a girl born with an extremely rare feature on her body: a scorpion tail. Despite her dark secret, Adana seeks to have a normal life but whenever danger threatens, her tail is ready to strike and stun its enemies. And that’s when she becomes Alakdana. While juggling between work and school, the fresh-faced 17-year-old Louise has continuously wooed audiences after her stints in various GMA shows including Ang Iibigin Ay Ikaw as the young Stella; Ikaw Lang Ang Mamahalin as Charina; Pilyang Kerubin as Isabel; and currently, the overachiever Luisa in Tween Hearts and in Party Pilipinas’ Sayaw Kabataan Crew. Aside from these programs, she has also appeared in numerous TV commercials and was even nominated as Best New Movie Actress in PMPC’s Star Awards for Movies two years ago. At present, Louise is a Full-time Second Year Resident Academic Scholar in Lyceum of the Philippines University.

As Louise takes her first real stab at drama with Alakdana, she will star alongside three talented leading men who will become her love interests in the afternoon show: Paulo Avelino as Billy, rapper-turned-actor Ritchie Paul Gutierrez as Gab and newcomer Alden Richards as Joma.

Completing the A-list roster of cast are Jean Garcia, Matthew Mendoza, Jobelle Salvador, Joana Marie Tan, Perla Bautista, Raquel Montesa, Buboy Villar and Ian de Leon. The afternoon series is directed by Mac Alejandre.
