Piolo Pascual: From morn till night

Piolo Pascual is passionate about his acting. He never lets his arresting looks limit himself from playing meaty roles and discovering his other passions. One of them is singing.

Come Feb. 14 at the PICC, Piolo will be everyone’s Valentino as he topbills Piolo Pascual Meets the Maestro with Sitti and Yeng Constantino as guests. Piolo will sing Beatles, ballads and his own hits from Decades albums which thrill every girl in the audience. The show is a collaboration between Piolo, the singer and Ryan Cayabyab, the composer-director. There’s a five-piece band to make this evening musically special. Yes, Piolo is your every inch a trophy boyfriend. But he is also a perfect performer this special day of hearts.

What’s the real score between him and KC Concepcion?

“I’ll still say the same,” Piolo answers. “It is something that we want to nurture, something we want to take care of. We’re both public figures. So, it is important that we keep some things in private. Whatever you guys, see, it is up to you to interpret. There are things we protect. I have a son. KC is a very well-known figure. People will always have different perceptions. I think what is important is our agreement, our relationship. Kung ano man yung alam naming totoo is between us.”

As a sought-after actor and endorser, Piolo admits “I’m a busy guy.”

Below, he shares how his typical day goes. It’s up to you to judge what a lagarista schedule Piolo has hopping from one appointment to another. It’s a far cry from his debut movie character who shuttles from one movie house to another to earn a living.

Early in the morning — I wake up. I work out every day either at home if I have less time or at the gym if I can spare at least an hour. I have a trainer.

I just stay away from beef, pork and rice. But all other things I eat. I’m a coffee drinker and I eat bread. I eat anything actually especially for breakfast and dinner. I love to eat. That’s why I work out as often as I can. So I can eat food especially sweets.

12 noon till the afternoon — I go to work (like attending a) presscon. After, I have a Star Cinema meeting at 4 p.m. I have another one at ABS-CBN at 5.

7 p.m. — I go to church for a prayer meeting. As much as possible, I go there twice a week. It is very important to me to go to church on a Sunday. That’s the only time God requires you to go and learn — and be fed with The Word. I think that’s the thing that keeps me grounded and keeps me sane — my relationship with God.

10 p.m. — As much as possible, I’d like to end my day early. I go to bed between 10 and midnight. (Is sleeping a luxury?) It’s a must for me. Six to eight hours is what I require because I need to recharge and I love to sleep. Even when I’m on the set, I sleep in-between takes.

During weekends — If I have time, I treat myself to a buffet. I go to Spiral (of Sofitel). I love Japanese food. I go to Heat (at Shangri-La Edsa Hotel). I love treating myself to a nice meal… I love trying out different cuisine. I go to Friday’s for an American food.

I go to the theater to watch a movie. I find time to go because otherwise, I’ll feel deprived — depriving myself from good things in life. Watching a movie is a therapy. I don’t go alone. I want to be with someone I can talk to. I always like to assess the movie and to talk about it. You won’t believe. I tried going to Trinoma twice to watch The Tourist. While I was waiting for Mega’s concert, I tried going to Gateway. It was too packed. Trinoma was too packed. The last movie that I saw was in a plane.
