MANILA, Philippines –  From one of the rooms at the seventh floor of The Oracle, you can have a panoramic view of the Ateneo campus across Katipunan Road and, yonder, of the Marikina Valley.

“You can take breakfast at the veranda and watch the city come to life,” said Sheila Romero who owns and manages the “hotel and residences” inaugurated just before Christmas last year. Centrally-located (also near UP, Araneta Center, etc.), The Oracle has a wide array of rooms to choose from, including (top from left) a sleep-inducing Superior Room (P4,050 per day inclusive of breakfast), a Two-Bedroom Living Room (P5,850 per day with breakfast) and a One-Bedroom Living Room (P4,950 with breakfast).

For parties and similar events, there’s The Ballroom (right) that seats 150 persons. Other facilities: Sizzling Pepper Steak, a Tutoring Club and Vigen Bodycare (Health Spa).

“Must-visit” is the O Bistro (below) which serves mouth-watering dishes such as (far right bottom, clockwise from top left) Beef Medallion, Hickory Smoked BBQ and Pan- Seared Salmon; and features the awesome art collection of Sheila and her husband Mikee that includes Juan Luna’s La Muerte de Cleopatra; Fabian  dela Rosa’s Trees; Botong Francisco’s Pieta; Vicente Manansala’s Two Men with Cockerel; and Fernando Amorsolo’s Grooming Princess Urduja , Burning of the Idols and Tinikling Dance.
