Musical reception for Ogie & Regine

MANILA, Philippines –  True to form, newly-wed Ogie Alcasid and Regine Velasquez sang together at their wedding last Wednesday at The Peak, Terrazas de Punta Fuego, Nasugbu, Batangas, as well as during the reception that turned out to be a concert in which the couple’s friends gave them a musical tribute, including Jay-R, Sarah Geronimo, Christian Bautista in a duet with Rachelle Ann Go, Dingdong Avanzado, Noel Cabangon, Gary Valenciano and Lea Salonga.

It was the merriest showbiz-wedding reception ever, true to the promise Ogie and Regine made weeks before the event dubbed as Wedding of the Decade.

Had Pres. Noynoy “P-Noy” Aquino, one of the Groomsmen, stayed he would have been persuaded to sing, too, considering that he loves to sing.

• Sharon Cuneta, one of the Principal Sponsors, was a no-show due reportedly to a “wardrobe malfunction,” although another source said that Sharon was running a fever, something that she confirmed in a text message to this writer.

• Jose Mari Chan, another Principal Sponsor, marched down the aisle with his partner, Dr. Vicki Belo, “missing,” allegedly because she was afraid that the mid-afternoon sun might damage her skin (and she’d rather stay indoors). Dr. Vicki didn’t really have to worry. If it happened, friends could have recommended her to any of the following skin specialists: Dr. Nellie Yu, Dr. Vinzon Pineda, Ellen Lising, Joel Mendez, Manny Calayan and wife Pie or Shinagawa.
