Letter Day Story sings theme of animated film

MANILA, Philippines - Since winning the Nescafé Soundskool band competition back in 2008, Letter Day Story (photo) has proven that it is no flash in the pan.

Its collaboration with Gloc9, Martilyo earned the group an Awit Award this year for Best Alternative Rock Recording. After coming out with an EP Sulat Araw Kwento in 2009, Letter Day Story then rocked 2010 with its full-length album Sama-Sama under Sony Music. The album’s title track has garnered heavy airplay on top radio stations in the country and charted on MYX and Channel [V] Philippines. The follow-up song Paano is proving the band’s consistency as it is also a radio favorite and now at No. 7 on Pinoy MYX Countdown. The band has also been all over the country touring for the Mossimo Band Entourage campaign along with promising college bands Eevee and Kiss Jane.

Now Letter Day Story is heading international as it was picked to sing the theme song of the movie, Niko- Journey To Magika, one of the first Filipino-made full length digital animated films which will be released to international markets beginning this month. Titled Hero Within, the song was written by Ebe Dancel, Alex Castro and Jessie Lasaten. With these achievements, expect Letter Day Story to soar higher in 2011 and beyond.
