Patricia might come home for good

FUNFARE - Ricky Lo -

She left the way she came — that is, sans fanfare.

Except for a brief appearance in Vicky Morales’ GMA show Wish Ko Lang!, Patricia Javier (who is now known as Genesis Walcher) wasn’t as visible as she should have been.

“I was thankful to my friend Shirley Pizarro for helping me find my yaya Gina through Wish Ko lang!,” said Patricia. “Ang tagal naming hindi nagkita.”

Patricia was here for almost a month for a medical mission in Pangasinan, Bulacan and Cavite. The project by Paradise Valley Medical Mission based in San Diego, California, is headed by Dr. Benjamin Camacho, Melinda Casas and Patricia’s close friend she simply called Charms.

Patricia and her husband, chiropractor Robert Walcher III, and their little son Robert IV, are staying at a well-appointed bungalow in San Diego which was threatened by the wild fire that hit the area two years ago. She left the two Roberts in San Diego where Patricia’s mother helps them keep house.

“I was gone for only three weeks and I’m already missing them a lot,” said Patricia over lunch at Via Mare (Tomas Morato Avenue, Quezon City) with Jojo Gabinete and this writer.

Besides, she said that she had to rush home because she’s opening her own beauty clinic in San Diego (she’s a certified beauty specialist, with a diploma from a beauty school) and, next year, launching her “praise and worship” CD consisting of Christian songs. The Walchers are Born-again Christians.

In the US, Patricia doesn’t miss showbiz that much because she gets invited to sing every now and then in affairs put up by kababayan there. She even joins beauty contests (finishing a runner-up in a Mrs. Asia-Philippines search). She also helped organize the all-female sing-and-dance group Asian Pussycats but has quit it since then.

During her short homecoming, Patricia was invited by her ex-boyfriend Marc Nelson to his brand-new house in Taguig City.

“We have remained good friends,” said Patricia. “Marc and Robert are good friends, too. He would visit us everytime he’s in San Diego.”

Years ago when they were going steady, Patricia gave Marc a painting of a beautiful nude lady (she wouldn’t say if she sat for it) and little turtles.

“Marc gave us a tour of his house and I was surprised when I saw that he still keeps my gifts up to now. He hangs the painting in his bathroom at ‘yung mga turtle, buhay pa hanggang ngayon. Touched ako!”

Life in the US is okay but eventually Patricia would like to settle down here. But will Robert agree?

“Well,” said Patricia who is as beautiful as ever, her figure as shapely as it was when she starred in several films here, “pinagbigyan ko siya na mag-stay kami sa States for five years now, so I think pagbibigyan din naman ako niya na mag-try kami mag-stay dito.”

Our bet in the 2010 Miss Earth contest

Kris Psyche Orozco Resus (photo) is the Philippine bet in the 2010 Miss Earth contest to be held in Vietnam on Dec. 4. The daughter of Ephraim Resus and Elaine Orozco, Psyche is studying at UP. Asked who her idols are, Psyche named Dr. Fe Del Mundo and former DENR secretary Bebet Gozun — the former for being passionate about her medical career and being the creator of the shift incubator for premature babies, and the latter for her commitment to public service and being a fervent disciple of environmental protection. More than 90 delegates are competing in the contest

‘We are pleased with the warm reception given by the people of Vietnam to promote and campaign for the country‘s environmental advocacy.  In addition to this worthy objective, these ladies will also promote the tourism destinations of beautiful Ho Chi Minh and Vinpearl in Nha Trang,’ said Carousel EVP Lorraine Schuck. — Reported by FELIX MANUEL, one of Funfare’s ‘beauty experts’
