Luis & Angel: What went wrong?

Is it really over for Angel Locsin and Luis Manzano? Tabloids are awash with stories that Luis has found a new girl whose identity is still under wraps. Luis, though, is often seen in public with this mysterious girl who many say, captured Luis’ elusive heart. One Internet site though identified the girl as Alodia Gosiengfiao, a cosplayer (someone who loves to wear costumes of favorite characters in animé series, movies or video games).

Former girlfriend Angel has been bombarded with allegations of being gay. Angel remains cool about this. “Hindi po ako lesbian. Maybe it’s because I’m tomboyish. Nag-boyfriend naman ako. Minsan naiisip ko, mag yes na lang kaya ako?” Angel said in exasperation.

Angel’s showbiz friends have come to her rescue. “Angel is not a tomboy. Walang magawa ang mga nagsabi niyan. Hindi siya maarteng babae at yon ang gusto sa kanya ng publiko,” said Bianca King. “People have nothing bad to say about Angel so they’re just creating an issue like this. I know Gel, she’s not like that,” commented Bubbles Paraiso.

People are also talking about Luis having given up on Angel. Luis admits he and Angel have been through a lot. “Marami kaming pinagdaanan ni Angel na sinubukan naming ayusin ang mga bagay bagay. Perhaps it’s safe to say that we are moving on in different directions,” said Luis on E-Live, a show that he co-hosts with Nikki Gil, Cheska Litton and Ogie Diaz. “I can say that I did something wrong to Angel. If I hurt her, I can say that’s part of my being a man. I have to accept my wrongdoings.” Luis also felt remorse for hurting Angel. “Kung yong pananakit ko kay Angel brought us to our separate ways, I would like to say I’m very sorry.” He added that he needed to change. “There’s gonna be a new Luis. It’s never too late or never too early to change. I need to be a better person din siguro.”

Could Luis’ pronouncements be the reason for Angel’s tweets on “Change?” She posted on her Twitter, “To change and to change for the better are two different things.”

We wish both Angel and Luis peace.

Wrong tweets

And speaking of Twitter accounts, the social networking site sad to say, is also being used to fake Twitter accounts of movie stars. Most recent victims were Bea Alonzo and Claudine Barretto who were allegedly exchanging derogatory tweets to each other. The supposed virtual quarrel started with a tweet from the Bea’s account that lambasted Claudine and her family. A piqued Claudine answered Bea’s offensive tweets. However, when The Buzz asked them about the disparaging remarks on their Twitter accounts, Bea and Claudine denied posting such messages. “I don’t want to waste my energy on it. But I just wish it would stop,” said Bea. Claudine who has worked on a teleserye with Bea, clarified, “Di nalang namin pinapansin kasi alam namin na hindi si Bea yan. Wala kaming away ni Bea. She will always be my baby.”

French sound mixer admires Pinoys

Nikola Chapelle, a French sound mixer born and raised in France, is working in the Philippines with US-based Filipino filmmaker Ron Morales who is doing his second full-length feature Graceland in the country. Ron’s first film was Santa Mesa, shot mainly in Sta. Mesa, Manila two years ago.

Nikola, who admits to his growing addiction to guitar playing, discovered his love for the art of sound, and has been working as sound mixer for countless shorts, full-length feature films, TV ads/commercials, cartoons/3D animation, Internet and video. He hopes to build an international career doing everything from sound mixing to sound editing and sound design. Nikola attended and finished film school in New York.

Like his current director Ron, Nikola is amazed by his Filipino co-workers, notably award-winning multi-media actor Arnold Reyes (Cinemalaya 2009 Best Supporting Actor for Astig), and noted character actor Dido dela Paz. He also admires the local technical staff for their industry, resiliency and dedication to their craft.
