JoAnne Lorenzana holds mall tour

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - JoAnne Lorenzana may already be based in the San Francisco Bay Area, where she lives with husband Brant Blower, but she always comes home to the Philippines, not only to visit her roots, but to practice her craft.

She’s in town once more to hold a mall tour starting off with one on Nov. 6, 5 p.m. at SM Baliuag, Bulacan.

Joanne has not yet gotten over the shock of discovering that a singer assumed her name to close marketing deals in Cebu. It was her writer-friend Pilar Mateo who told Joanne about it before she flew back to Manila. Imitation may be the best form of flattery, but not in this case. Using JoAnne’s name, the impostor established contacts that opened business opportunities which gave financial returns, one of them from JoAnne’s current sponsors. But now that she heard the real Joanne is in town, the impostor vanished into thin air.

JoAnne has news for her wannabe: “I will be more visible in the next few weeks,” she says. “Jojo Alejar, a good friend from way back, has agreed to guest in my mall tour. He will add a comic touch to the show, which SM Supermalls has graciously agreed to support in connection with my album, Between Seasons.”

Jojo will not only crack jokes. He will sing big band songs, jazz and groove to Michael Jackson music.

Joanne’s other guests are her nephew, Guji Lorenzana, Jan Nieto and upcoming singer Chad and Raymond Gorospe. Joanne will sing tracks from her album, like her next single, Technicolor, Between Seasons,  Look of Love, Suddenly I Feel June, You’re Hiding, the pop ballad Kung Kasama Ka, Beyond Ago and the pop gospel ballad Tumawag Ka Lang.
