The CompanY's special repeat performance

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The CompanY will have a special repeat performance of its phenomenally successful 25th anniversary concert celebration titled CO.25 tomorrow, Oct. 30 at the Music Museum, Greenhills. Show starts at 8:30 p.m.

CO.25 premiered last Oct. 16 to a standing room only audience that bestowed three jubilant standing ovations to the vocal quintet composed of Annie Quintos, Moy Ortiz, Cecile Bautista, Sweet Plantado and Jay Marquez.

The last quarter of a century has been productive for The CompanY, having been blessed with 19 studio albums, 39 music industry awards (Awit, Katha, Catholic Mass Media), two video releases, three solo TV specials, national and international vocal workshops, and countless concert tours both in the Philippines and abroad.

The five singers have chosen to go beyond their tag as just a vocal group of world-class caliber. The almost three-hour concert extravaganza was a showcase of the group’s electrifying energy and presence as topnotch live-wire entertainers in the Philippines.

The show, CO.25, is a deliberate choice to be more of a showcase than a retrospective for The CompanY. The anniversary concert is divided into five acts that blend various art forms from the worlds of music, dance, photography, film, video art, performance art, theater and fashion.

From jazz to classical, from Broadway to folk music, from pop to doo-wop, from acoustic to electronica, from world music to Original Pilipino Music (OPM), from a cappella to symphonic — The CompanY’s repertoire for Co.25 runs the breadth and width of vocal music in its various genres.

Special guests are comedic genius, Jon Santos, and the Philippines’ Samba Siren — Eileen Sison of Guarana. Musical direction is by Beth Martin. Co.25 was written and directed by Moy with two-time Palanca award winner, Floy Quintos. Miss Aria Clemente will be the opening act.

Wardrobe and costumes were designed and executed by Danilo Franco, Joey Samson and Frederick Peralta. Jerome Chang does hair and make up. Jewelry pieces are by Arnel Papa. Lighting designer is Dong Calingacion. Sound engineer is Jerry Joanino.

CO.25 (The Repeat) is produced by Advocate of Philippine Fair Trade, Inc. Tickets are still available at the Music Museum. For details, call 721-0635 and 721-6726.
