A game for charity
MANILA, Philippines - PLDT SME Nation gathered their Bossings to play at the game show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire aired over TV5, in a face-off with P2-M at stake. None of them needed the money for themselves — but they were willing to put in their time and effort to raise money for their chosen charities. The Bossings, successful businessmen supporting the PLDT SME Nation entrepreneurship campaign, had a great time playing the game on national TV.
PLDT SME Nation’s Bossing Ako campaign seeks to promote the spirit of entrepreneurship among Filipinos. The Bossings are supporting the campaign by sharing their success stories as sources of inspiration and wisdom so that would-be Filipino entrepreneurs are encouraged to start their own businesses. And more importantly, encouraging them to embrace technology to allow them to expand their business and make them more efficient — and getting it from a trusted partner, PLDT.
“Being an entrepreneur allows you to be your own boss and control your personal and financial destiny. By becoming the boss of a business, you can help create jobs and improve the national economy. We are happy that our Bossings are very supportive of our campaign,” says PLDT SME Nation VP and head Kat Luna-Abelarde.
Vic set all the Bossings at ease throughout the show with his witty remarks and polite, easygoing hosting style.
The 10 Bossings who joined in the game show and the beneficiaries they played for were: Mon Lopez (for Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship); Roseann Hizon-Bunla (Bahay Pag-Ibig); Les Reyes (Childhaus @PCSO and Lualhati ng Maynila Home for the Aged); Sarah Liuson (First Love Philippines); Louie Gutierrez (Bahay Pag-Ibig); Joe Magsaysay (Bantay Bata Foundation); Juno Henares (Ike and Nena Belo Foundation); Roselle Monteverde-Teo (Kids Foundation; and Gardy Cruz (Rotary Club of Navotas).
Joe went home with P20,000 for his chosen charity, Bantay-Bata 163.
The Bossings of PLDT SME Nation won a total of P140,000 for their chosen charity in a game all of them enjoyed playing. Their enthusiastic participation in Who Wants to be a Millionaire? proved even Bossings busy with their businesses can have a great time while playing for charity. In the end, everyone felt like a winner.
