Vice Ganda and Kean: Puede kaya ma-develop?
Curtain-raisers:
• It’s Kris Aquino’s last day as main host of the ABS-CBN’s Pilipinas Win Na Win (PWNW) which will be moved back to its original timeslot (starting at 12:30 p.m.), pushing pre-programming Showtime to its 10:30 a.m.—12:30 p.m. slot. Taking over on Monday, Oct. 4 (instead of tomorrow, Oct. 2 as earlier announced) as PWNW hosts are Hitmakers Rico J. Puno, Rey Valera, Nonoy Zuñiga and Marco Sison. No truth to the rumor that Hajji Alejandro, the fifth Hitmaker, isn’t joining because he might be tagged as panakip-butas (title of his hit song). Retained as co-hosts are Pokwang and Valerie Concepcion. With Rico J on board, expect PWNW to turn, uhm, “sex-oriented.” Is MTRCB Chief Consoliza Laguardia on “green” alert?
• Did Edu Manzano and Pinky Webb put one over ABS-CBN? When Edu decided to run for vice president in last May’s elections, Pinky being his girlfriend was expected to resign as per network regulation, like what Korina Sanchez did when her now-husband Mar Roxas filed his certificate of candidacy for the vice presidency, to avoid being accused of partiality. Instead, the couple announced that they had broken up, so they kind of skirted the rule. After the elections, they reconciled. Now, guess who are having the last laugh?
• Could it be true that a huge Kapamilya might jump ober da bakod and turn not a Kapuso but a Kapatid. If the person (see, no clue as to the gender!) did, it would be another big blow to the Kapamilya network since Willie Revillame was suspended from the defunct Wowowee. Advice to Ma’am Charo Santos-Concio: Do some loyalty check, quick!
* * *
Is the flirtation between Vice Ganda, star of Viva Films’ Petrang Kabayo (inspired by but not a remake of the Roderick Paulate Regal starrer), and co-star Kean Cipriano (vocalist of Calla Lily) for real? Or was it uploaded on the Twitter as a gimmick for the movie which is showing nationwide starting on 10-10-10?
It started when Vice Ganda and Alessandra de Rossi created a “tweetserye” that they are fighting over Kean whose rumored (but unconfirmed) girlfriend is Alex Gonzaga (who, many people say, and I agree, is more lovable and easier to deal with than her older sister Toni).
“Nakisakay naman si Kean,” said Vice Ganda, “until Jon Avila and Luis Manzano (another Petrang Kabayo co-star) joined the fun. In fact, ang dami nang sumali, like Chokoleit, K Brosas and Tuesday Vargas. All of us are squeezing our brains what exciting episode to cook up next for the love triangle.”
To add spice to the “love triangle,” Vice Ganda and Kean showed up together at the premiere of I Do Tuesday night, holding hands for the benefit of the media, I’m sure.
Can they be “developed”?
Said Vice Ganda, “Kung carry ni Kean, why not?”
Actually, it’s a love “quadrangle” because Vice Ganda admitted that he’s also fantasizing over Enchong Dee — “Kahit may tsismis tungkol sa kanya,” insisted Vice Ganda, “wala akong pakialam at wala naman silang pruweba.”
Meanwhile, as the showing of Petrang Kabayo (directed by Wenn Deramas) draws near, Vice Ganda is making frequent trips to St. Joseph Adoration Chapel on Hemady St. in Quezon City, imploring the Pink Sisters there to pray that it doesn’t rain on 10-10-10. He recalled that before his solo show at the Araneta Coliseum last May 15, he also asked the Pink Sisters for prayers. It worked. Vice Ganda’s concert was a success.
103.5 WOW-FM is drawing followers
Barely two months on the air, 103.5 WOW-FM is fast attracting its own following. It’s the sister station of Jam 88.3, Wave 89.1, Magic 89.9 and 99.5RT which are all under The Radio Partners Inc. (TRPI).
Tune in to 103.5 WOW-FM and you will be hooked, thanks to the three additions to the TRPI family — Mr. Fu, ang tagabulabog ng bayan; Laila Chikadora, ang Reyna ng Tambayan; and Tina Ryan, “Miss Moran if you’re nasty.”
Mr. Fu is a regular in a few TV5 shows, including the Sunday noontime show PO5 and the new one, Wow Meganon? with Joey de Leon. Laila Chikadora used to be with ABS-CBN (as host of the after-midnight gameshow Games Uplate and movie reporter for dzMM). Tina Ryan is, well, she’s an FM veteran who has a following of her own.
Said TRPI president Bernie Buenaseda, “We are so happy with the addition of WOW-FM to our group. WOW-FM brings a new sound and new entertainment to radio listeners. It’s not only our regular listeners who are happy but also guys from other stations.”
Stay tuned to WOW-FM and don’t blame us if you develop bellyache from laughing (until you cry).
12-Hour Famine stars go hungry
What’s wrong with the following invitation (check out the highlighted portion)?
World Vision “12-Hour Famine Celebrities Go Hungry” for change! Join Nikki Gil, Marc Nelson, Cristalle Belo, Sam Concepcion, Chris Tiu, Tippy dos Santos, Krissy & Erika and others as they rally the youth of our nation to stand up against Hunger. On Nov. 6, they will all go hungry for 12 hours to raise awareness and funds on this issue. A Press Launch will be held on Sept. 24, 1 p.m., at the Event Factory, 3/f Eastwood Mall. Food will be served before the program. Hope to see u there!
I didn’t make it to the presscon but I wonder, did the going-hungry celebrities partake of the food served before the program? If they didn’t, then it was a good way of kicking off the campaign which is easy for them since they are on a diet anyway.
Anyway, join the campaign to be launched on Nov. 6, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Flying V Arena in San Juan City. Can you come on an empty stomach?
