Christmas wedding for Robin, Mariel

As promised, Robin Padilla will marry (again!?!) Mariel Rodriguez on Christmas Day this year not, contrary to rumors, in Muslim rites (because they did that already at the Taj Mahal in Agra, India, last Aug. 19) but in Catholic rites as a polite nod to Mariel’s relatives who were, sob and sigh, the last to know.

“Yes, we are,” Mariel confirmed to Funfare Update, “but we are still waiting for the finality of the annulment. Then after that, it’s a go!”

Robin’s only other documented marriage was to Liezel Sicangco (with whom he has four children), solemnized in Muslim rites inside the National Penitentiary while Robin was serving a term. The couple were divorced. Liezel has remarried (to a New Zealander) two years ago and is based in Australia.

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, Robin has been saying that the Ibaloi affair in Baguio was just “ceremonial,” a way of introducing Mariel to the Irogot culture (Robin’s mom Eva Carino is a descendant of the Igorot tribe), and not a wedding even if the several witnesses claimed that there was.

Robin brought Mariel to the Dutdutan X last Saturday night at the World Trade Center where Robin displayed the tattoos of his “exes” all over his body. Of course, Robin had to ask Mariel’s permission before he did it, promising Mariel that he would have her face and name added to the “collection.” I’m not sure if Robin will have the tattoos of his “exes” erased from his body…and life…for good.

Presented by Tribal Gear Philippines, Colt 45, Skinworkz, PHILTAG, Kenny Rogers Roasters, JB Music, Jack TV, Magic 89.9, NU 107, UR 105.9, U 92 and Sidetrip Travel Magazine, Dutdutan is an event where respected tattoo artists (from France, Guam, Singapore and Korea), enthusiasts, supporters and first-timers gather to compete, get inked, make friends and marvel at skin artistry at its best.

As with any other Dutdutan event, one should expect the unexpected. Living up to expectations, this year’s ultimate tattoo gig celebrated its 10th year, and delivered a full dose of street-rockin’ lifestyle event like no other. Tattoo fans gathered for the biggest and grandest tattoo event in Philippine history, a two-day event (Sept. 24 and 25) that exhibited the finest ink works, and notorious inkers at work.

Here for the event straight from San Diego, California, was the Worldwide Tribal clique headed by Tribal founder Bobby Ruiz. With him were hardcore band POD’s drummer Wuv, Franco Vescovi, top inker and owner of Orange County Inkhouse, exceptional multimedia artist Willie T., Lexi and Johnny Quintana, a new addition to Tribal’s growing pool of international ace artists. 

Event highlights included Tribal Gear’s very own Bikini Open. Sexy ladies in the house with skin, all smooth and milky white, wowed the audience and stole the spotlight on Saturday night. Hosts were The Boys Night Out of Magic 89.9 Slick Rick, Tony Toni and Sam YG. Other features were Universal Reality Combat Championship (URCC) and a Drum Duet the winner of which, POD drummer Wuv, wowed the crowd with his expertise.

Meanwhile, Robin is finalizing the script of a movie he and Mariel are going to shoot in India.

Heart and Daniel admit being ‘on’

Heart Evangelista (left) is in love again and she’s telling the whole world about it.

The lucky guy is Brazilian model-actor Daniel Matsunaga (right) who proposed to Heart in Portuguese last Aug. 30.

Recalled Heart, “We have this Tuesday group and we cook during our weekly meetings. I invited Daniel over and he cooked a Brazilian dish for me.”

Did Daniel win Heart’s heart through her stomach?

“He did more than that,” said Heart. “Daniel is mabait, well-mannered. Marunong siyang gumalang sa pamilya ko.”

Heart has already introduced Daniel to her family which gave the guy a thumb-up. Soon, Daniel plans to introduce Heart to his own family when the Matsunagas fly to Japan for a vacation.

The two are in the cast of the GMA soap Langit sa Piling Mo. She plays a stewardess and he a pilot.

Daniel came into Heart’s life at the right time. Several weeks ago, Heart broke up with a politician from the North. Daniel is the first actor to court Heart after she split up with Jericho Rosales.
