Why Lea loves Bounty Fresh
MANILA, Philippines - Lea Salonga (photo) brims with excitement everytime she talks about her “performance” in the kitchen.
“I make sure every detail in the kitchen is taken care of — from ingredients to equipment, and even in what I would wear,” jests the Broadway star.
Mrs. Chien (Lea is married to Robert Charles Chien, a managing director of an entertainment software company) says her taste for local food, particularly chicken meals, has never diminished, in spite of the many years she has lived abroad.
As doting mom to four-year-old Nicole Beverly, Lea puts her heart on her sleeve and takes pride in every successful dish she prepares: “Being a performer, it has become natural for me to give a part of myself to others — whether to the audience onstage, or to my family and friends. Cooking is one of the ways I share special moments with my loved ones,” she says.
But just like performing, Lea has cooking secrets that she is just too willing to share. “It all begins with getting the best ingredients. As long as you stick with brands that have the seal of excellence, then you’re good to go. For my chicken for instance, I would go only for Bounty Fresh, because I am assured of its freshness.”
It is no wonder then that when the opportunity presented itself, Lea would readily sign up with Bounty Fresh, Asia’s Best. Lea and Bounty Fresh have received international recognition. Last year, Bounty Fresh snagged the Asian Livestock Industry Award — a feat no Filipino company has achieved. It has also won “best processing plant” honor in the Philippines four times.
