Tree-planting in Laguna

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Laguna Gov. Jeorge E.R. Ejercito Estregan (rightmost) and Laguna PNP provincial director Gilbert ‘DC’ Cruz lead the reforestation and tree-planting program. Clearing of the 27 water tributaries will start soon, including the relocation of the informal settlers to a provincial housing project and removal of all the fish pens. Laguna Lake, which is the source of potable water, is now heavily polluted with wastes due to the informal settlers, fishpens and illegal loggers. Also in photo is Public Information officer Vic Pambuan.
