Frank Sinatra a priest?

- Danny Dolor -

Indeed, the great entertainer Frank Sinatra played a priest in the 1948 film The Miracle of the Bells. He is Father Paul, playing the part ‘with sincerity, deep humility and heart-touching warmth.’

Despite Sinatra’s reputation as a ladies’ man, he remained a Catholic all his life, the faith of his Italian ancestors.

Sharing stellar billing with Sinatra are Fred MacMurray and Valli — yes, simply Valli — touted as a ‘new and radiant star’

The Miracle of the Bells is based on a bestseller of the same title, becoming ‘the picture all America will take to its heart.’  — RKC
