16 blockbusters on HBO

MANILA, Philippines - Stay home to enjoy eight weekends of worldwide box-office favorites that each grossed over $100-M with HBO Summer Blockbusters every Saturday and Sunday night at 9 on HBO/HBO HD. Collectively grossing about $6-B, the 16 blockbusters feature some of Hollywood’s most famous actors.

HBO Summer Blockbusters not to be missed are the brand-new television premieres airing every Sunday at 9 p.m.

The brand-new premieres in August are movies of mammoth proportions in terms of cast, quality and popularity. Johnny Depp and Christian Bale give sterling performances in Public Enemies on Aug. 1. Christian Bale returns with Sam Worthington in the action packed Terminator Salvation on Aug. 8. The Quentin Tarantino movie Inglourious Basterds Aug. 15 boasts an all-star cast that includes Brad Pitt, Mike Myers and Diane Kruger. Legendary actors Denzel Washington and John Travolta pair up on Aug. 22 in the suspense-filled thriller The Taking Of Pelham 123. Aug. 29 is the premiere of the star-studded ensemble cast of He’s Just Not That Into You, starring Ben Affleck, Jennifer Aniston, Drew Barrymore, Jennifer Connelly and Scarlett Johansson.

The animated film Monsters Vs. Aliens that premieres on Sept. 5 wraps up the HBO Summer Blockbusters. Featuring the voices of Reese Witherspoon, Hugh Laurie and Seth Rogen, the movie pits a motley crew of monsters against an alien robot in an attempt to save the world from destruction.

While brand-new movie premieres air on Sunday nights, the other eight HBO Summer Blockbusters movies that grossed more than $100-M each will air on Saturday nights at 9. These include Escape 2 Africa on July 31; Lethal Weapon 4, Aug. 7; Hellboy II: The Golden Army, Aug. 14; Fast And Furious (2009), Aug. 21; Yes Man, Aug. 28; and Kung Fu Panda, Sept. 4.
