A 'new' Sarah, a preggy Juday
MANILA, Philippines - Viva Films’ Hating Kapatid shows Sarah Geronimo in a different light. As Judy Ann Santos’ sister, the Pop Princess holds her own.
Sarah plays the youngest daughter of Cherry Pie Picache, whom elder sister Rica (Judy Ann) takes care of until she graduates from college.
It’s Judy Ann and Sarah’s first team-up, and the two had a grand time bonding on the set. Needless to say, the two stars can’t wait to see the film when it hits the theaters on July 21.
Viva Films Big Boss Vic del Rosario is closely monitoring Hating Kapatid because it is Sarah and Judy Ann’s first team-up. He is excited, especially for Sarah, since it will prove her versatility as an actress. And because of this, he pulled out all the stops to make sure the big-budget film is worth the moviegoers’ money.
“I love the challenge this film gives me,” Sarah says. “It allows me to dabble again in comedy.”
Her team-up with Luis Manzano, who plays her leading man for the first time, is also another thing to look forward to. And, based on the rushes, the new team-up has the makings of a winner. Sarah and Luis’ rapport ignites the screen with romance.
Sarah is back from the US where she had a successful concert tour. Sarah visited some of the tourist destinations there. She’s making up for lost time by mounting a provincial tour.
First stop is University of Baguio on July 10, where she will perform with guests Christian Bautista, Charlie Green and XLR8.
Up next on July 30 is Waterfront Hotel in Cebu where Cebuanos will see Sarah performing with Erik Santos, Charlie Green and Jay Perillo. She will be at the Limketkai Atrium, Cagayan de Oro on Aug. 6; Island Cove, Cavite on Aug. 20; and Arellano Coliseum in Cabanatuan on Aug. 27.
Other shows are Sept. 3 in Ormoc; Sept. 17 in Lipa, Batangas; Sept. 13 in Zamboanga City; Oct. 1 in Bataan; and Oct. 8 in Bacolod.
Sarah was not around to receive her second Guillermo Mendoza Memorial Award as Box-Office Queen last June 22.
Sarah relayed her deepest gratitude to the award-giving body for recognizing her efforts once more.
“This award inspires me to work harder to please the audience. I can never disappoint them, especially fans. I offer this award to them,” says Sarah.
Hating Kapatid also stars JC de Vera, Gina Pareño, Tonton Gutierrez, DJ Durano and Vice Ganda. It is directed by Wenn Deramas.
