It's not all Heart
MANILA, Philippines - No questions pertaining to her love life. This was the strict reminder during Heart Evangelista’s pocket interview for N2 Derm+, a part of Nisce Skin & Face group of Derm and Spa clinics, which she endorses.
Of course, it stirred some curiosity to some members of the entertainment press who are used to hearing Heart answer every question thrown at her — whether personal or showbiz-related — in a manner that reflects her good breeding.
“About love life, it’s just okay but I don’t want people to keep talking about it because I don’t want them to just know me because of my love life,” Heart says. “I also want them to discover (my) other aspects but if they ask me, I’ll happily answer and I cannot lie pero yung ibang pa (intriga) ayoko na patulan, lalaki lang e, it’s not really worth it.”
Not many people know that aside from effective acting on GMA 7’s Langit sa Piling Mo and her scene- stealing production number in Party Pilipinas, Heart gets herself busy with a lot of other things. She cooks her specialty dishes mostly pasta or steak, takes care her dogs, paints during downtime and keeps herself fit and beautiful.
“I cook a lot. I’ve been practicing my cooking by inviting friends from my Tuesday group — from production staff, actors and non-showbiz friends to come over.”
Cooking, Heart shares, is something that she never learned from school. She believes good taste can be achieved depending on one’s preference and personal touch. “My mom and sisters are also there to teach me.”
With all the cooking and eating, how does Heart manage to keep fit and always be at her best?
“I eat heavy lunch not breakfast. I don’t know why but they say it works much better. But I don’t eat that much rice. And pasta just once a week. I (usually) have wheat bread, lots of fruits and vitamins. Fish naman at dinnertime.”
Whenever Heart feels stressed out, she goes to Nisce for a relaxing treat such as the foot spa, nail polish, laser treatment, eyebag treatment and the diamond peel that maintains her flawless skin.
Thus, you won’t see her wear heavy makeup even under the glaring klieg lights.
“I hardly put makeup as we are exposed to the heat and it’s really absorbed by the skin. I don’t want my pores to get clogged,” says Heart who was initially introduced to the public via a deodorant commercial with Cogie Domingo decades back.
She works out regularly by going to the gym or in the house while her dog watches her running on the treadmill.
“I have 30 dogs but not all of them stay with me. The others are in Carmona. I have 17 askals while the rest are of different breeds like German Shepherds and Cocker Spaniel.”
No wonder Heart has been actively involved with PAWS for almost five years now. In fact, she is also busy completing a magazine about raising awareness for dogs titled Big Heart.
“This is my way of venturing into other things aside from painting.”
With Heart’s various concerns, need we ask about her love life?
