Northwind Singers win Glee contest
MANILA, Philippines - After months of auditioning three glee clubs moved one step closer to the title of Jack TV and etc’s Great Glee Sing Off champions last June 8. All their hard work and talent was put to the test as they took to the stage and wowed the crowd at SM Centerstage. The boys and girls of Himig Sanghaya, Northwind Singers and Blazing Sensations each sang one song from Sony Music and one song from Glee before a panel of judges made up of representatives from Solar Entertainment, Sony Music, Trumpets and The CompanY.
Before winners were announced, Trumpets treated the audience to a medley of songs featured on Glee, while The CompanY rendered Don’t Stop Believin’. The CompanY’s Moy Ortiz played guru to the three groups before the competition by sharing his expertise and experience as a performer.
Coming out on top were the Northwind Singers, who won P100,000 cash from Solar Entertainment, a group workshop package from Trumpets and gift packs from sponsors and Jack TV and etc. The Northwind Singers is made up of 12 fresh high school graduates from Trinity University of Asia who have won other choir and chorale competitions.
